Directions for School Bus Drop-off

Mill City Museum is located in downtown Minneapolis on the west bank of the Mississippi River, just north of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, near the corner of Park Avenue and 2nd Street.

Look for the Gold Medal Flour sign. The museum is right next door.

Via Light Rail: FREE Park and Ride from Ft. Snelling. 18 minutes to Downtown East/Metrodome Station. Walk west 1/2 block to Park Avenue, north on Park Avenue 4 short blocks. MetroTransit Information.

From the South: Take I-35W North to the 3rd Street/University Avenue exit #17C. Follow sign for West Bank. Turn left onto Washington Avenue. Turn right onto Chicago Avenue. Go one block north and turn left onto Second Street. Mill City Museum will be directly ahead on the right.

From the North: From the North: Take I-35W south to the University/4th Street exit #18. Turn right onto 4th Street Southeast. Turn left at Central Avenue. Cross the Mississippi River and then turn left at 2nd Street. Mill City Museum will be 4 blocks ahead on the left.

From the North West: Take I-94 East to the 4th Street North exit #230. Follow 4th Street to Chicago Avenue/Kirby Puckett Place and make a sharp left turn onto Chicago Avenue. Go three blocks north and turn left onto Second Street. Mill City Museum will be directly ahead on the right.

From the West: Take I-394 East to the Washington Avenue exit #9C. Turn right onto Washington Avenue. Turn left onto Chicago Avenue. Go one block north and turn left onto Second Street. Mill City Museum will be directly ahead on the right.

From the East: Take I-94 West to the 5th Street exit #234B. Turn right onto 11th Avenue. Go 4 blocks north and turn left onto Second Street. Mill City Museum will be 4 blocks ahead on the right.

School Bus Parking Information

Mill City Museum provides a bus drop-off and pick-up zone directly in front of the museum on South Second Street. Look for the red-capped meters and signs. The bus zone is limited to Tuesdays through Fridays, October through May, from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Please note that this bus zone is for drop-off and pick-up only - no bus parking is allowed.

The City of Minneapolis provides free bus parking Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm on North Second Street between 8th and 10th Avenues (about 1.5 miles from Mill City Museum). Contact the museum for directions or more information on this free bus parking zone.
